Who came first: Goofy or Pluto?

Goofy and Pluto are both Disney dogs. They were both part of the Fabulous Five, and then later the Sensational Six. While Pluto is a pet dog to Mickey Mouse, Goofy is an anthropomorphic dog.who speaks and walks on two legs.

Pluto appeared slightly earlier than Goofy. In 1930 he appeared as an unnamed dog and then as Minnie’s pet dog Rover, before finally appearing with the name Pluto in the 1931 Mickey Mouse cartoon ‘The Moose Hunt.

Goofy first appeared a year later, in the 1932 cartoon ‘Mickey’s Revue’. At that time, he was called Dippy Dawg. Pluto is also in that cartoon.

The 1934 ‘Orphan’s Benefit’ saw Goofy’s first appearance as Goofy.

Both characters were often voiced by Pinto Colvig.
