Candyman is not made of bees, but bees do follow him around. The 1992 and 2021 films both explain the reason for this. I won’t spoil the films by explaining the origin of Candyman.
They used real bees in the 1992 film. Tony Todd received $1,000 for every bee sting he received. There were no such riches for the actors in the 2021 sequel though, as they used CGI bees.
