Proofreading/Editorial Services

I have been writing professionally since 2010, and I've provided proofreading and editorial services for the same length of time. As a writer and author, I understand how important one's own writing is, and make it my mission to treat each novel, article, or other literature that I proof or edit with as much care and respect that I would give to my own work.

What Do I Proofread/Edit?
Unless in exceptional circumstances, I provide proofreading and editorial in one service. This is quite simply because I cannot proofread a text without feeling that unscratchable itch to provide more specific feedback. So while my prices are for proofreading, I will also provide editorial alongside.

Literature and texts my services cover include, but are not limited to, the following:

Fiction (general, genre-specific, YA, and children's)
Non-fiction (textbooks, biographies, etc)
Theatre scripts and screenplays
Articles (periodicals and articles for submission)
Blogposts
Academic essays and dissertations
Applications for grants and other projects
Emails and covering letters

YouTube descriptions, tweets, and Facebook posts

Standard Pricing
Although it is traditional to conceal pricing details until a quote has been sought, I prefer to mention my standard pricing up front so you can gather all the information you require before making a decision to get in touch; this way, there will be no nasty surprises or hidden costs lurking in the dark corners.

For larger projects or repeat custom, quotes may be reduced. Please note that, while the pricing is in GBP, international equivalent is also available.

Standard rate is 1p per word
Any invoice for literature totalling fewer than 5,000 words includes a £5 administration fee. This is for first-time clients only, and this fee will be wavered for ongoing custom

That's it. A penny per word, plus an admin fee of £5 for first-time clients where the project is invoiced for fewer than 5,000 words. No increase for tighter deadlines. No additional costs for a shorter turnaround.
